An alarmist headline perhaps but one that will resonate with cake fans.
Last Thursday, the US Army celebrated its 237th anniversary in grand fashion with a “Birthday Cake Cutting Celebration” amidst the hustle and bustle of the New York collective.
Uniformed officers and troops soldiers gathered in Times Square where the boss himself, Buddy Valastro, unveiled a 500lb cake in the shape of a tank in honour of the occasion.
Buddy assisted US Army Chief of Staff General Raymond Odierno in cutting the behemoth cake, which reportedly took the Cake Boss crew three days to prepare ahead of the event.
After some slice and dice, sections of the cake were boxed and shipped to US troops serving in Afghanistan.
