Video: David Thorne from 27bslash6

Australian web mastermind David Thorne, who usually turns down public appearances, said yes to the folks at Blogworld 2012 in New York and sat down for a chat. Watch after the jump.

He’s the snarky scribe behind those now legendary back-and-forth letters about the spider drawings, foggots, the party in the flat,  and most recently, the halogen lamp in the gated community.

For the uninitiated, all of these are available on his fairly epic website, 27bslash6.com. The site is named after the flat George Orwell lived in while writing 1984. It’s also a reference to the Terry Gilliam film Brazil.

Thorne has released two books, The Internet is a Playground and I’ll Go Home Then; It’s Warm and Has Chairs.

Check out Mark Malkoff’s interview with the elusive David Thorne.

Huntress Thompson

In the vacuum between dark and light, Siouxsie Sioux and Emmylou Harris, Amelie and Travis Bickle, Huntress Thompson is an idiot lost, and reporting from the field. If you’re after irrational, impassioned rants about cupcakes and Johnny Cash (and you probably aren’t), she’s grumpy, but she’s your girl.
